POSITION TITLE:  Operations Research Scientist

POSITION DUTIES: The Operations Research Scientist will be employed to: identify high-impact opportunities within our industry by improving the data flow between our company’s different departments; focus on using the company’s past customer data, analyze how best to break that list into different segments, and develop automations specific to each segment that facilitate our ability to send marketing materials to the different segments; utilize mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, and their numerical parameters to help define and guide data-driven decision-making processes; lead ideation, business planning, and execute data science initiatives to address and pursue the identified opportunities; build financial, statistical, and economic models for analyzing data to execute business, sales, and marketing strategies; conduct statistical and economic analysis based on our customer data; run regression models and use the results to estimate the amount of capital our company should invest in pursuing various identified business opportunities; and conduct in-depth research on other companies in the industry to build the most competitive sales strategies possible.

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or its US equivalent, in Statistics, Econometrics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or other related quantitative analytical degree

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 24 months of experience in the following: Collaborate with executive management to drive business success through data-driven solutions and to clarify management objectives; Shape and define the data science roadmap, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, and delivering significant business impact through gathering and validation of information, applying analytical judgment and statistical tests; Develop and drive the data science strategy; Identify high-impact opportunities within the business by performing testing and validation of models to ensure adequacy (reformulating models as needed); Solve problems by getting and analyzing large amounts of data to identify business insights and opportunities, designing simulations and experiments, and developing statistical models by tailoring them to business needs; and Formalize assumptions about how our systems are expected to work and develop methods to systematically identify outliers.

RATE OF PAY: The employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor

PAY RANGE: $41.71 - $56.00 / hour
